When Bitso started expanding rapidly across Latin America, their internal knowledge didn’t scale at the same speed. Teams in Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, and Colombia needed a shared foundation to understand blockchain, crypto, stablecoins, and cross-border payments. Without a formal academy, onboarding was patchy, experts repeated the same workshops, and new hires often struggled to catch up. The challenge was clear: Bitso needed a structured way to build crypto literacy at scale, without overloading their specialists.
This gap wasn’t just about efficiency: it was about confidence and culture. Employees wanted clarity, leaders wanted consistency, and everyone needed a common language for crypto. That’s when Bitso partnered with App-Learning to launch an academy that turned scattered materials into a single, engaging experience.
We achieved a 90% course-certification rate among employees, ensuring they have the minimum crypto knowledge we expect of them.
The rollout didn't just replace workshops with digital modules. It redefined how knowledge circulated inside the company. By packaging 18 interactive chapters in both English and Spanish, the academy met employees where they were across different countries and roles while keeping the message consistent. The gamified format kept learners motivated, and certificates gave them tangible proof of progress.
Mapped must-have competencies with Maria's team.
Created an 18-chapter core and 18-chapter advanced level, both available in English and Spanish.
Integrated Okta SSO for seamless one-click access and connected BambooHR to provide real-time progress tracking.
Published Stablecoin deep-dive module.
The impact went beyond efficiency. With onboarding now built into the first week, new hires entered their roles with confidence. Internal experts were freed from repeating the same training sessions, saving hours every month. Most importantly, Bitso established a scalable foundation: employees spoke the same crypto language, engagement surveys rose, and the academy became a visible sign of the company’s commitment to professional growth.
It was one of the initiatives with the most tangible impact. People felt the company cared about their development.
